My friends from Udine in Friuli forgot for a long while, that one of their cousins is a winemaker. Then one day suddenly they remembered and they asked me if I am interested and being in the lower part of Friuli, the Isonzo region, I was. Since then I had wines from the higher part at the Slovenian border, the Collio. So they made me knowing him – luckily.

Without many expectations Barbarossa Cantina visited Massimo (Max) Di Lenardo. Max explained his filosofy of reduced grape quantities per plant and the fruity taste. The whites truly are very fruity, the reds velvety with fruity notes. Immediately Barbarossa Cantina was sure, that Chinese friends will appreciate these wines. In fact not long after the arrival the Ronco Nolè was out of stock already and had to be reordered. A good reason for its success is the exceptional quality/price performance. We recommend the Pinot grigio, a nice fruity white wine and the Ronco Nolè as well as the “oaked” (as Max defines the barrique treatment at the lables) Merlot “Just Me”.

At the end it was a really good decision to accept my friends idea.
